Karen George: Her Legacy to Active Rain Lives On

karen george We lost a wonderful friend on AR last week. A woman who gave to others till her last breath.

Karen George was a mentor to many of us here on AR. Her loss is tragic for all her family & friends & the community of AR to which she gave so much.

What a breath of fresh air Karen was, so down to earth, and genuine, tough as nails, but so soft in heart. We prayed for Karen & her family every night. She was such a fighter, we always felt there was a glimmer of hope that she would remain with us in spite of her disease. Sadly the day finally has come to say goodbye.

Karen will be truly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Karen, thank you so much for all you have done for your friends & colleagues. Your legacy will forever live on.

Karen's Active Rain friends have the opportunity to help soften the burden that Karen's illness and absence will have on her family and to give back the way she gave to us.

Paula Henry has set up a fund on the family's behalf. Please give what you can, even a small amount will help.

Hi Ginger: She touched my life also. I have been putting all the post I see about Karen on a post and just added yours to it. She was so willing to share her knowledge with all of us, we lost an Active Rain Angel.

I did not know Karen very well, but have heard mentioned several times in the almost two years that I have been here on AR, and each time I have heard her name mentioned it has always been in a positive context.

I am sure it will not be easy for all those that knew her to get over her loss.

Hi Ginger- Karen really was a huge asset to my learning seo . Her contribution to AR was sincere ...she wanted all of us to be better. She asked for nothing in return but to know her systems worked...and they did! Her fight was courageous and her love of life made us try to live ours better. I hope her family knows how much she gave to total strangers during the fight of her life. Her blog posts and legacy must be preserved here- she deserves nothing less.

Hi Michele, Another selfless giver to the community is lost. Do you remember Mike Stankewich? His Photography group was awesome! I was just catching on to him when he passed. His blog is still up. Karen's loss is especailly traumatic because she was so young to leave us.
