6 Comments on Networking Defined, Best Method Described, Your Value "Give-Away" Identified

I'm not sure I'd be writing all the details about networking, but I would deffinitely offer all that I can by making myself, my knowledge and my expertise available. And you're right, we shouldn't do that expecting something in return. The entire concept is based on giving!

Meli, I am not sure if I follow you. Are you saying that you think writing the details is a bad idea because it should be kept a secret? Or are you saying that you don't think that writing out the details will give you an idea of what value you have to give to others? I do agree that the concept of networking begins with giving.

I hope that you gained some value or insight into the process. Thanks for joining the conversation!

Dean - what a concept giving something away WITHOUT expecting anything in return. I think the outline here of networking is ideal. Thanks for sharing.

Jan Marie, this is not something I invented nor is it new. Yet it seems every meeting or event I attend people want from me without giving first, people need to benefit first before considering giving first, or people just sales pitch info dump me into submission. That is not everyone but it is the goal or definition people have of networking in more than half of the people I meet. Thanks for your kind words and I hope you come back and read more!
