My new Active Rain Profile

One of Remax's finest real estate professional and Crofton Maryland's own Margaret Woda, Maryland REALTOR wrote a very good post last week How to Blog for Leads on ActiveRain . She gave seven great tips on generating real estate leads through blogging. Number five on Margaret's list was "Create an appealing and information packed profile or "about me" page to work in tandem with your blog.(My What Makes These ActiveRain Profiles Winners?)

After reading her blog,she reminded me of something I kept saying I was going to do but never got around to doing. So today I decided to set aside some hours to finally to do it. After many hours (It was too many hours I lost count) of working on my page,I now have a new page Lanre Folayan "Buy a home in Washington,DC". Now it is missing some pictures but I am going to add that later. I even changed one of my websites Washington DC,Maryland and Virginia Houses for Sale. Hopefully with my new page,it will help me get leads. And if you have any suggestions,comments or ideas on what I can do to make it better,please let me know. Thank you.

I'll run off to look at your profile from here! I was thankful one of the Makeover2Takeover assignments was to revisit and revamp the profiles - mine needed it - but I never took the time to. Good job for taking over the task!

Wow, Lanre, thank you for the mention and the link! 'Just checked out your new page, and it is really content-packed. I can see a lot of work went into that, and it will pay off. I believe, from client contacts, that they read your profile after they read an interesting blog post or two, and an agent who doesn't have a "good" profile will lose that possible lead.

Lanre-you've started in the right direction. Just remember that what you say about yourself needs to be about you and your service. Watch out for generic language that could be found on any template website. It won't gain you any SEO with Google. Interject information on the neighborhoods your serve in DC and VA. Put links to any posts that you have written on those neighborhoods. Margaret knows her stuff so check out her profile closely and you will see what I mean.
