My Mom and Dad are down visiting, and they brought their little miniature dachsund.  Every time she goes outside, the mosquito's swarm her, and all of us, for that matter.  I was going to spray the yard with mosquito repellent, but my Dad said it wouldn't be good for her, etc.  She has to go outside, so is there a product that you can put on Dogs, that repels mosquitos, won't be irritating, or get in their eyes?  She is so low to the ground anyway, the poor thing can barely see above the St. Augustine.

There's stuff you can put in the  yard that will keep mosquiots away for a few weeks.  They're horrible in Dallas, but much more tolerable when the yard is treated.  I can't tell you what it's called because my husband does it, but Home Depot should be able to help you.  We have a lab/blue healer mix and it's safe for pets.

as you may remember the Astrodome was houston's answer to their mosquito problem to get a baseball  team. we left texas in the 80's... to a place where there are no bugs and its not hot. that was our solution to the problem. am thinking those electric zappers around the yard might help...

Some dogs cant handle spices, but if he/she can then a small amount of garlic (powder) mixed with food will build up in the dogs skin and help to repel quite a few pests. Most dogs seem to like the taste as well.
