The connection you have with people whether through Twitter, video or the "old fashioned way" email has become something I would have never dreamed it would have evolved into. I am a young baby boomer and with a marketing background. I remember my professor in the early 80's telling me that newspaper would be obsolete by 2012. We would not be using the newspaper to learn about what is happening in our world.

I am learning to be a part of this fast moving explosion of communication. Earlier this week the democratic presidential candidate came to Lynchburg Virginia. The only way one knew where to get tickets for this event at E.C. Glass High School was via social media and text messaging. If you waited to watch the 6 p.m. news to learn about this you were watching "old news".

I now consider email a slower way to communicate. My voice mail message says "If you need to get in touch with me right away, you can send me a text or Twitter me at 'BrokerSaunders'."

I going to be around for a while and watch as this age of communication evolves. It should be interesting. I think the possibilities are endless!

It is amazing how quickly technology is changing.  My brother in-law just purchased a service that turns his voicemail messages into text message.  So even those people who don't like to text.......end up texting him.  Pretty cool!!

Hi Nannette It is the speed at which we move forward that takes your breath away.  Good post.  I am still trying to remember to open up Twitter and most days I forget about it.  I will get it though.
