In todays aging world, many baby boomers and Seniors are thinking of selling the big Home, and moving to a Condo.

These individuals have owned their own home for 15, 20 and even 30 years or more and the thought of going to a condo is overwhelming.

They have heard so many stories about Condos, rules and the lack of control they have.  The thought of moving becomes a constant nightmare as they look at all the STUFF they have accumulated through the years. What do they do with it?  How do you fit 20 pounds of stuff (the house)  into a 5 lb. bag (the condo).

It is not a decision to be made quickly or taken lightly.

This Blog will address this topic, a few questions at a time. As a Realtor, I have had quite a bit of experience helping sellers downsize to a Condo. More importantly, I have extensive personal experience as a Condo owner and resident. I have owned resale units and brand new. I am in the age bracket of those baby boomers and seniors. I have served on a developer turnover transition committee and newly formed Board of Directors.  I will start with the researching of making the move.

Where do I start in this decision making process?

The first thing to look at is your lifestyle. Do you have children and grandchildren that you want to have near-by?  What knd of activities do you enjoy? Do you want your surroundings to continue to be familiar or do you want to move to a warmer climate and new surroundings? How is your health? Are you familiar with the warmer climate area you are considering. What is your financial position and move affordability?  With answers to the above questions you can now start to research online if you are using the Internet or you can interview a few Realtors and research through them.

I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
