I have often been called a trailblazer but since I have only been in real estate since March that title has never referred to me. Why then am I the only Realtor in Oshkosh blogging. It is not just here on active rain but on anywhere. Check it out, do a google search. Nada.

What exactly are folks waiting for, the market to tank? In our office we have lost three agents in two months. These were pretty long term agents. I have to ask what their business were built on. Not a one of them even had a web page. Maybe I am too new to understand the ways of the agent. Maybe I never will.

Just a couple late night thoughts.

I hope this isn't a taboo, but if you want, check out my independent blog: http://www.thepollyblog.com

Hi Polly, Welcome to Active Rain.  You'll love it here -- you'll learn more than you ever dreamed and meet some of the nicest people in the Real Estate Industry!  Good Luck -- looking forward to getting to know you.  :)

Hi, Polly, I'm new to activerain, as well. I don't even have my own blog, yet. I'm still trying to find my way around the site and comment when I think I can contribute. I'm thinking that being the only blogger from your area is actually a good thing. You are educating yourself and making connections that the other area agents are missing out on - a definite advantage for you. Best of luck in this market of opportunity!

Hi Andrea!

Kevin Sandridge, here.  I just joined the Active Rain community myself and wanted to drop a line to share some of the good vibes and welcome wishes I have received already.  I'm very excited about this community - basically because folks seem so willing to help out, provide industry insight, and share their good news and experiences!

I urge you to keep blogging on this site!  You will be AMAZED at the awesome feedback you receive very soon after they hit the network!  I use Google Reader to subscribe to blogs that provide me with ideas about what I'd like to comment on - both industry wise and just for fun!  Check it out I am more than willing to step you through the site and to help you get a few more blog posts generated if you wish - as a way of adding some value and paying forward some good networking vibes!  :)

I do quite a lot of work via social networks, email campaigns, and relationship building.  If I can ever be of any assistance, don't hesitate to ask.

Looking forward to what you'll share with us all here on Active Rain!  :)

Blessings,

Kevin Sandridge

Thanks all for your welcome.

Although new to real estate, I have been blogging for three years now at my independent blog and love it. Blogging is addictive and I gave it up the first time because of my "need" to blog. Since I transitioned over to a real estate blog I don't anticipate the same need for a fix as before, but I hope it will be just as fun.

I look forward to networking with you all and jumping into the fray when ever possible.

Polly, it is just as addicting to blog about real estate or at least here on Active Rain.  Just wait another few days.  We even have groups for those of us who are addicted to blogging and/or Active Rain.  :)

The same thing seems to be going on in my area.  Very few agents are blogging.  In my company, I believe I am the only one.  I guess some area are picking up on the internet revolution quicker than other areas.

Welcome, Polly.  Oshkosh is a pretty name.  I agree with The Muldowney Team.  Not many agents are blogging in my area.  I am the only who blogs in my company.  We have two offices, one in Morro Bay and the other in San Luis Obispo.  I enjoy being on ActiveRain. There's so much information to share and exchange.  I didn't not blog for a few months and when I got back, I feel like blogging everyday.  Have fun!

Polly... it's ok to plug your blog on your own post... it's only bad form to post it on other's posts.

Hello from Kenosha... let me know if you need anything down here, or any tips. I have been on here a while and am happy to help.

Thank you everyone who has stopped by to lend encouragement. I plan on blogging as long as my fingers can type.

Shout back at Ralph from Kenosha. Great to see more Wisconsin bloggers.

Welcome to the Rain! Hopefully more Realtors learn the power of blogging and can understand the benefits of the rain. However, the less agents in your area blog, the more you stand out. Congratulations on being unique!

Polly, welcome to 'The Rain'  I am sure that some of your fellow realtors will start blogging when they see how many leads you get!

Polly:  Welcome to Active Rain.  Some folks are just intimidated by blogging because they don't understand it but I'm sure there will be others to follow your great lead.  In the meantime, have a blast on Active Rain.  You will meet so many great people here.

Polly, welcome to Active Rain.  Since you already have experience in blogging you will fit right in here.  This site has helped me tremendously in so many areas.  I love the Tech corner and the Marketing for You groups.  I know I'll see you around in the Rain.

Polly, Welcome to the Rain.  I too wonder about those older agents that don't use the internet.
