The Realtor Review (a monthly publication of the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors) highlighted a new website that looked interesting, and as I pulled iIveys Department Storet up I was THRILLED.  The site, www.PreservationTriangle.com gives people the opportunity to share "experiences, stories and photographs" about their communities.

Their mission statement is as follows:

"To structurally and financially support efforts to preserve the heritage and culture of local communities worldwide."

I found one of the first posts regarding Ivey's Department Store in Charlotte - which was the site of one of my finest "retail therapy" initiations!  My uncle worked at the shoe department at Ivey's in Charlotte, and we loved to go visit the store!  The animated windows were the first I ever remember seeing!

As a "portal" for information about communitites, especially "older - historic" areas, it's WONDERFUL - I just wish they allowed for comments on their posts!

If you want more information about the NC Triangle, or need to refinance your building, please call Steve and Eleanor Thorne.

Eleanor,

The stuff I learn from actually reading posts!  (I got absorbed in the photo, but pulled out of it.)  I didn't know you two did commercial loans.  More to learn...

I loved to go to the big dept stores when I was small. They had such wonderful displays and OHHH... Christmas was really special!!  I also remember having to dress up just to go shopping. Jeans or slacks for girls were frowned on!!  You probably wouldn't get waited on if you showed up in casual clothes.  Things have loosened up a bit!!

Hi Eleanor!

We met at your office a couple of weeks ago.  Great information.  I am slowly following your advice.

Thanks again,

George
