Ever Wonder What Kind of Order Your "Groups" Are In?
I hope I'm not the only person that didn't already know this! LOL I guess in the hussle and bussle in this business, you're moving so fast you "meet yourself coming and going" and you never have time to "Stop and smell the roses" and you're "running around like a chicken with your head cut off". That's sort of what happened to me on signing up for so many interesting Groups. I have been to busy, I haven't had time to figure out WHY my groups are in the order they are, and when I join another one, why I can't find it in the list easily.
The Mystery is Solved. Your Groups are in order by the # of Subscribers to the group....unless you override that sort field. So it makes sense when you post a blog...send it to the "top of the list" whenever possible to get the maximum number of readers, which in turn gets you more "points" which in turn makes you the "King of the Mountain" in your state, county or city.
ALSO...I recently found out that IF you don't have a MINIMUM of "10 words" to a response...you don't get point credit for a "response"!.

David: I believe your post should contain 50 words to get 200 points also. Gosh, so many things to remember. It's all in the numbers...... and no four letter words if you want friends around here. Dagnabit!
David, I also did a test and you only get 25 points per separate blog comments. Exchanging insults with our buddies won't get us the 10 allowed 25 points. At first they were counting (I tested. So double check for me to see if I'm right.) and then they were taken away. So I think the goal is to comment on at least 10 different blogs.
As for groups, when does anyone have time to go to them. By the time I check you and my other favorites, my time is up! Work beckons!
LOL Barbara....DARN...I'm real disappointed to hear about the "insults" not counting. I spent a lot of time lamblasting someone that lamblasted me in a blog (first time) and was really hoping I was "earning some points" for my excellent arguments. lol
I don't know whether you subscribe to Charles Buell and Steve King but they exchange the most creative insults all the time. They are funny. Sometimes I join in and insult them. Look them up. They are home inspectors from WA.
Barbara...I'm definitely going to do that. Funny thing on my blog response was a woman had written a blog and several woman had responded like "go girl" and Fred Light had a rather negative view and then they all ganged up on him so I jumped in and started defending him and then all of a sudden I was starting to feel like I'd get an Anthrax letter in the mail soon lol
lol...Vickie....I just had to take the time today to figure it out because I joined another group and couldn't find the dang thing in the long list and thought "what the heck kind of order are these dang things in!" After doing some seaching I figured it out....but it's been bugging me for months lol
Doreen....YOU CAN LIST YOUR GROUPS IN ALPHABETIC ORDER...
All you do is click on "Groups" at the top of your group listing. Then click on the List Groups button in there...then it has a "Sort on" and you can change that to by "Name" which will be in alpha order.
I was wondering about the order of the groups. Interestingly, it doesn't seem to apply that the biggest groups have the most posts and replies, does it?
WELL....WHOEVER Wrote the above...YES....I can always use more agents!! I've designed my system like none other....I pay 80% to agents and provide a lot with that and don't charge "Fees" for anything.
Peter....try clicking on the word "Groups" right above the list of your groups. Then you should come to a page that has a pull down menu that says "All Groups (4262)" and to the right of that is "List Groups" with an arrow. Click on List Groups. Then you come to a page that has a pull down for "Category" and one below that saying "Order By". The default setting is "# of Subscribers". Click on the Order By and the dropdown menu choices are: Name, Date Created, # of Post, # of Subscribers or Most Active. Select the one you want and that will be the sort for your groups.
David - Thanks for posting this. I've been wondering about the order of my groups for a while, but didn't have the time or energy to search for the answer on AR.
David, thanks for the information, not only did it help with the way I handle my groups and posts, but I didn't know of the 10 word rule. Makes sense, it will help to make posts better.
My next venture is going to be "Designing a Pyramid Scheme" where we all somehow respond to each others blogs and all get jacked up to 100,000 points in a matter of days !!!!!!! LOL
