I have a question for some of you experienced Active Rain Members.  I have been blogging now for almost a month, and feel that many of my blogs have given worthwhile information and advice.  Many have been commented on several times and some have never been commented on.  I want to clean up the Blogs I wrote that do not seem to get any views or comments.   If I delete a Blog will it also take points away?  Just curious.   I am sure that there are many who have Blogs from long ago that is outdated or no longer relevent.  I think if they were cleaned out, it would be easier to browse the blogs and read the ones with the most worthwhile information.  Also I have seen several who have posted a Blog multiple times,  is there a reason for this?  As I am pretty new I would like some input on this.

Thanks for the feedback.  I am just wondering what is more important keeping points or deleting outdated information.  I mean there are soooooooo many blogs out there less Blogs with more quality would be better in my mind.

Thomas, if you delete a post, the points are deleted as well, not only for your post but for any comments you may have received.  Rather than delete them, why not edit them to clean them up?

I agree with Lisa that editing the blog is a better option than deleting them.

Thomas,  Yes, your points and the commenter's points will be deleted.  I see no need to delete them because people who like you stuff will eventually read these articles too.  The articles that don't get a lot of attention are still useful in evaluating a bloggers thoughts and true beliefs.  This seemingly insignificant blogs is what contributes to you as a blogger.  It is a way for you and you readers to gauge your progression as a blogger.

As to why people may post the same thing over and over:  I would say the blogger feels it is an important message.  Because posts are always posted by the most recent a good relevant post can get buried quickly.  But re posting it has a better chance of being seen by new members.  Of course, you should not receive points for these re posts but the reader still benefits from the content.

I see no reason to delete old blogs. If they are inaccurate or offensive, or not up to your current stantdards, simply edit them.

We now have the outside blog to post to, and many of us post lots of other stuff on our blogs besides things related to the Real Estate Industry.  Maybe you might want to consider using the outside blog for nothing but professional information and keep the AR Blog for posting everything.  That is my intent as I am getting ready to set up my outside blog.

Thank you for all the great feedback.. I think I will take the advice and just edit them and maybe add more content to them.

Being new to AR myself, I often have the same questions as many others.  Many times I find the answers by reading other peoples blogs, and sometimes even in the comments.  I am with the majority in recommending editing them and not deleting them.
