Yes. Blogging takes a lot of time and thought but I think its worth the effort, especially in a slower market. I am happy to report that I just had my first closing (last week) as a result of my blog.
I was contacted - I think it was late last year - by member of our armed forces abroad. This soldier was serving his fourth tour of duty in Iraq and told me (via email) that when he returned to the states in the spring he intended to relocate to Fresno. He told me he had contacted other realtors regarding his situation and got little to no response. He assured me that he was a man of his word and said that if I would begin assisting him with market info, etc that he could count on me representing him when he returned from Irag and began his search in earnest. True to his word, when he returned and had his home in escrow he called and informed me he was coming to Fresno to look for a home. That weekend we found his home and last week escrow closed.
So, I would have to join in with others with similar stories and say that blogging DOES pay.

It's great to hear a success story, It has yet to work for me....Hey, If you have any clients tired of burning up down there in Fresno just refer them up to me on the beautiful southern Oregon coast!
Just joined this week and hoping it pays off. I understand the logic behind it and the internet exposure it gives you and believe it is something that will work out.
Karl - My dad just sold his home in Florence and is moving back to California.
James - bloggging does take time and effort so its really only a piece of the equation. I'm sure there are plenty of agents who do just fine without it.
