Just set up my schedule to earn my CE credits for the year, on Thursday, July 10.  I just took last year's mandatory class in May, 2008. This year, without procrastination, I am going to take my mandatory update and also get my elective course all in one day.  That is July 10, just 10 days into the real estate CE year.  It will be such a relief not to have to think about mandatory CE for another 12 months.  It helps that the RRAR is located right here in Cary, NC.

We have newly updated Realtor forms, and I want to get a leg up on them.  Last year, I adopted the new forms in the fall, at nearly the final extended deadline.  I have already updated with ZipForms, and have sent out some sample forms.  I think I better learn the changes and updates so I can use them properly.

I want to start work on my CRS this year, and one way to clear my mind is to have the mandated CE done and out of the way.  If I get some free time and see something I really like, I will also do next year's elective course, and carry it over.  Maybe one of the CRS courses will count as a CE elective.

Either way, it will be a fine day, learning and getting the CE worry off my mind.

MIKE, I am working on the CRS this year also.  There are two classes being offered here this year so I think I will just take both and that should give me everything I need with the other designations I have.  I have found it a little confusing to figure out what I needed but I think I have it figured out now.  We will see I mis-calculated on my broker license and ended up taking one useless course that I didn't need.

Marchel,

I think they keep it hard to figure out the requirements so that anyone who has done it has shown the necessary tenacity to be a good agent...

Mike in Tucson,

It is a rare event, that lack of procrastination.

Kris,

Kind of just frees up a couple of brain cells for the real job at hand, doesn't it?

Thanks for the post - and just wondering where to check for the classes or whatever I should be taking toward going for my broker - I have been in the real estate business about 15 months and want to take the right classes - any info will be appreciated!

Norma,

I took my broker classes at the school where I earned my RE Sales license.  Can you do the same?

Good for you Mike!  I did something similar last year by taking the elective one day and the mandatory update the a few days later.  It felt good to get it out of the way.  I have some other stuff going on right now, so my goal is to finish by December this year.

Great idea Mike, Now that my vacation is over, I'll take some classes too. You remember what we heard at KW, the busiest agents are taking the most classes.

Did this years update include the new forms though? I remember last year they didn't say anything about them until late in the Summer.

Hope all's well

Linda,

Some discussion of the Offer to Purchase and Contract.  And, there is the possibility of a mid-year form update on Buyer Agency agreements, due to possible change in NC REC Rules.  Lots of talk about Buyer Agent compensation disclosure prior to writing an offer, even prior to showing the home.

Go to school!
