Why worry any longer as to whether or not you'll get caught up at a security checkpoint? Ever show up two hours early, just in case, only to sail right through the checkpoint?
Visit Tempe Mark's TSA Report updates to find out the average and maximum time it takes to get through the security checkpoints for various airports.
It eliminates the mystery and is easy to use. I hope this suggestion helps to give those that travel a little more time to double check to make sure everything was packed instead of having to go through a last minute rush.
One more thing to watch out for: If your boarding pass is marked with the letter "S" or several letter "S's", you will get a full screening so add 10 minutes extra.
Have a safe weekend and enjoy the break!

Great tips. I didn't know about the letter s screening check. I will look from now on though.
Hmmmm... 'didn't know that about the "S" on your boarding pass. Good info. I've traveled by air a lot in the past year, at least a lot for me. I haven't run into any major delays at BWI, Dulles, DFW or Bush/Houston - security checks went like clockwork.
Margaret - I only found this link because I had to drop a friend off the morning of the 4th and show houses at 9:30am and needed to make sure that the scheduling worked. Hopefully, this will help all in the future. (I miss BWI, Reagan and Dulles being so close together...options always help!)
