My husband is a pyro from the word go....he likes to get the big 500 gram 90 shot artillery shells that go off all at once.  I really think he is a teenager in a grown ups body sometimes.  We all gather in the cul-de-sac with our neighbors and have banana splits and watch the fire works.  The kids have a blast ( that means my husband too) he makes sure he buys enough for all the kids to have fun with.  It usually takes him about 2-3 hours to light everything he gets.  I like the little stuff ( not to say when my husband lights one of those 90 shot cannon things  it does get a little exciting) but i am more of the fountains, and the medium size stuff.  So what do you do for the fourth of July? I would also like to send a  VERY BIG THANK YOU to all those who are fighting to keep this nation free. So we can have memories like these.  Every one have a happy 4Th of July and please be careful and say a prayer for those who can't be with there families.

My husbands idea of fire works.   My idea is down a little farther.

We can't shoot off our own in Arizona, so the town puts on a big display at the park. They shoot them out over the lake, huge numbers of people come. Its great fun.

I think Im going to have to go with your Hubby's Idea of fire works LOL. I would never light one of those thongs Im too chicken but I do enjoy watching them. Atypical 4th of July for me includes eating lots of BBQ,water meleon, Swimimg, lots of family and friends, drinking nice cool summer drinks and of course watching the big fire work show. Be safe tonight and enjoy your Holiday weekend

Greg-I hope that the food, fun, family, & cocktails were great!  Sounds like it defiantly is a good plan.

Leslie-The reinvention sounds like an awesome time to share with family and friends. When your with the ones that mean the most....it can not be bad.

Makea- I am right there with you on the chicken part.  That is why, MY idea of fireworks are the smaller ones.  The others should be left to the professionals....LOL

Pretty standard tradition, except my Dad's birthday is on the 5th.  So, we celebrate his birthday and Independence Day together.
