It Was a Day For Smiles - Dan Pizappi Graduates

This is a happy post about my son's graduation ceremony last Saturday, June 28th, 2008.  Those of you who read my post last week "Ready or Not..." will know that I had mixed feelings about my boy moving on with his life.  Well when I saw the look on his face after it was over I knew how happy he was and I knew the time had finally come.

Getting the diploma

So what if we were absolutely melting from sitting in the broiling sun for 3 hours to see him walk across the field to accept his Advanced Regents With Honors Degree.  So what if I spent the time until his name was called among the more than 450 graduates wishing that my husband's name began with A instead of P.  Look at my boy and you will see it all.  He is giving me a full smile, not the strange little closed lip curve that I usually get.

Presenting my happy son Dan Pizappi Jr.

Happy Grad

Now I'm not saying that there might be more to the story of this great smile than the diploma.
Here he is with his girl, Rachel, who also graduated that day.

The two happy grads

Congratulations to you both and I wish you both success in college and beyond wherever the path of life may take you.

Paddy - Congratulation to you and son.  They grow up so fast but as they become adults we get to enjoy the next phase.  Great shots.

Graduation day seem to attract the worst weather.  At my daughter's we all got soaked and looked like wet mops.  At my son's graduation it was the heat, I thought I was going to die, however it is an occasion we wouldn't miss.

Thanks Jennifer We got soaked at my niece's graduation 6 years ago.  I was happy it did not rain but people were dropping like flies on Saturday.

I knew you and your Mom were waiting.  I wanted to wait until I got over the heat stroke and got them packed for Gettysburg.  They made it out there and are setting up camp as I play here in the rain.
