Fireworks, BBQ, etc - you know what I'm talking about! The traditional 4th of July celebration. I plan on doing the BBQ and fireworks 4th celebration in Downtown Dayton. Do you do anything crazy in your neck of the woods for the 4th or do you stick with the traditional?

Can I come, I love the 4th.

We actually get crazy in our neck of the woods!  We drink red beer, make apple pie schnapps, light off lots of fireworks, hang out on the lake all day long, eat a ton of food that is really bad for you, have a campfire in the evenings, drink more Landshark beer, pass out and get ready for the next day.  Is that normal or should I give you the rest of the vitals.  lol

Enjoy your 4th as well, stay safe!  God bless

I haven't seen a good fireworks show since I took my son to Disney in 2003. Here on the Big Island of Hawaii there is one show at the North end of the island ... about 2 hours away. It's just too far a drive to head home afterwards to make the trip for a 30 minute show. I miss a good 4th of July show.

My sister lives in Dayton, Ohio and she tells me it's always a spectacular show.

The best part about 4th of July is the BBQ'ing and the gathering of friends!  I'm lucky enough to live by the intracoastal in south Florida and the local park is throwing a big party, with music, beer, food and of course fireworks!  Should be tons of fun!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th!

We'll be heading to my brother-in-laws on the lake he lives on. The parties used to be crazier; now we're older so it's tamer. It's kind of a tradition so we always look forward to it.

We are having seven grandkids over and swimming, bbg'ing and then later, perhaps going to the Tempe Town Lake Fireworks show.  I have to stop by there to see one of the displays/vendors and introduce them to some people and I may or may not take anyone with me.  I'm just not sure how the day is going to go yet.

I do know one thing for sure:

It is going to be warm.

109 degrees.

I had the most awesome one ever.  Had friends over, BBQ, and our own firework show in our backyard.  We had over $1,000 worth of fireworks and, best of yet, didn't have to drive home after the show.  IT WAS AWESOME.

Hi Christina, you've asked me about what were my plans for the 4th of July so here is my
recap.  Dagmar Sands

July 4th - Spend it with your family and friends... it is OK to relax! (edit/delete)

I  hope that everyone took the time to celebrate the birthday of our country and to relax
and celebrate their family and friends.  I was very blessed to have my entire family with
me on this special day and we visited our best friends who used to be our neighbors at
their new house on the lake.

What a special day.  We visited, ate wonderful lunch and dinner together, gave blessing
for each other and for our country and the freedom that we have.  As a Realtor I spend
all my days rushing.  I run to the office to to check on messages, read e-mails and do
the daily routine things. Then it's a full day of making flyers, creating marketing ideas,
catching up with sellers and potential buyers, hurry...hurry....hurry.  On July 4th my
neighbor who is now retired shared with me that she spends her day living in the
MOMENT.  Wow, it made me realize so much that I'm missing by looking ahead what
I have to do tomorrow, next week, next month.  I rush around so much and I forget
to live for the moment.  On this day I looked at the calm water on the lake, I watched
the kids play games, talk with each other, I sat and shared stories with my friends.

July 4th made a huge difference for me not for this day but for the rest of my life.  I
promised myself I will learn to live more in the moment instead of wishing my life
away.  I have never taken naps in my life, I never stop and read a book from beginning
to the end, I only read it in parts.  I don't appreciate the time of relaxation.  I am
going to change all that.  I wish I could share that with all the Realtors.  We should all
start doing more of relaxing and enjoying our family.  After all, this is why we work so
hard is for our family so it is perfectly O.K. to enjoy these special moments with them.

In the end I believe that all my clients will benefit from it because I feel so much more
recharged, rested and even organized.  I've had time to think about new ways to sell
my listings and I know they will all sell very soon now!  Dagmar Sands
