The new IKEA PS Laptop Workstation ($39.99) is an attractive, affordable, and versatile wall-mounted desk that has far more uses than simple laptop storage.  The workstation is designed to hold cables and/or a power strip in the lower compartment and an elastic band in the upper compartment holds the laptop securely while it's being stored.  The powder-coated steel comes in red or white and matches the IKEA PS Cabinet.

In addition to providing compact and accessible laptop storage, this workstation could also serve as a kitchen cutting area, with utensils stored in the bottom compartment and a cutting board secured on the shelf, or it could be used in an entryway to sort mail and bills and charge cell phones and other devices.  More creative uses could include an easily stowed vanity in a bathroom or bedroom area, with personal items or cosmetics in the lower compartment and a mirror above, or a child's secretary desk mounted low on the wall with school supplies in the lower compartment and a study writing surface above.  The possibilities are endless.
