I've just come from an office meeting where the company Internet Marketing Coordinator introdcued us to the concept of eCards.  Fortunately, our company has great resources to help its agents navigate through the process of mailing theme-oriented electronic cards to customers and clients.  I am amazed at how easy it is to get started sending these cool cards which are Can Spam compliant, i.e., have the required "opt out" button.  This terrific system enables e-senders to create a link to web sites, domains, and blog sites.  Incredibly, there is a built-in system to track the most recent 100 events for all sent eCards.

Although I was initially reticent to plunge into the eWorld of real estate, I am now totally convinced that this is the way to go.  The wave of the future is here now...and it's electronic.  If you are not using eCards, ask your broker about this innovating, cost-saving resource.

6 Comments on eCards! Cost-saving & Cool!

As much as I believe the Eworld of Real estate is here, is not like in the other industries just yet.  Actually we are still far behind.  Ecards is a great way and cheap one to for us to farm in our areas.  The only thing is, question yourself on this one, when you receive emails that are in your junk box, do you actually read them?  Most people never do, they just simply delete them.  I thought about using Ecards, but when I read a survey, and I don't remember the statistics now, but most do not even look at  their junk box emails.  If your system is inexpensive and you feel it is worth it, then try it out.  I still think the old fashion of using Post cards is still the way to go.  Prospective buyers or sellers will look at the card at least for a second, and maybe longer if they are interested in buying or selling.  But ecards, whether a prospective buyer or seller is in the market, they might just miss your ecard alltogether.  think about this before you use ecards.  Another way to go is using PLAXO.com free and you can use ecards for free to your past and inner cirlce clients.  Works like a charm

Where and how do I find this ecard company. Hopefully without support of my CO I can figure it out ...but I do have a great 12 year old that can figure out most anything in this techie world.

Thanks Marie

Andy, I know that folks use the "delete" button regularly. I believe that our company has done some research on this and tried to reduce the junk mail effect somehow.  I will continue to use old-fashioned postcards.  In fact, I just ordered 400 for various uses- home anniversary, expired listings, renters.  By putting my name and company in the message line, at least, for a second, the reader will see the two together.  Hopefully, it will be an association of agent name and brand name.  Thanks for the thought provocative and sincere e mail.  I do agree with what you are saying and hope to use the eCards as a supplement- especially for those who prefer e-mails.

Roseann - I love eCards, I use them for business, friends and family.  Plus they are the "green" way to be.

Marie & Debbie,

My company, Prudential Homesale Services Group, provides eCards capabilities to its real estate professionals at no charge.

If you google eCards for REALTORS, or something to that effect, you will have a list of companies providing this service, typically for a fee.  Shop around, for some of the fees may be a little high.  You can import your sphere of influence lists from Outlook, or EXCEL, thereby eliminating the need to type in each contact and accompanying e-mail address.  I hope that this helps a little.  Good Luck!

Hi.. I love the idea of e-cards.. I just joined RE/MAX and haven't really gotten into the system to look around too much yet.. Do they offer an ecard system?  I interviewed with Prudential and I know they do, but I'm unsure about RE/MAX.. Thanks!
