I got tagged not once, not twice, but three times for a meme in one week. My eternal thanks to Deb Brooks, Ricki Eichlerand Cynthia Tilghman. It's been a while since I've done a meme, and I was intrigued by the super meme. So here goes...
1. Who is your favorite musical artist? Okay, this is a no brainer. I have been a fan of Little Feat for more than three decades. I've been fortunate enough to become friends with the band members and have travelled with them to Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Denmark and Norway. Here's a taste of what makes them so special.
Coming in a very close second is Paul Thorn. I just discovered him last year and think he is a phenomenal singer and song writer.
2. Who is your favorite artist? I really love Georgia O'Keeffe. Not only was she a multi-talented artist who was best known for her watercolors, she was larger than life.
4. If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be? Mmmmmm, tough one. Where do I start? I think Paula Deenwould be so much fun to hang out with. Not only that, you know you'd be eating fabulous food!
5. What did you want to be when you grew up? I have loved music ever since I can remember, so I think it's fitting that I was a disc jockey for more than twenty years. I don't know that it was a childhood wish, but I jumped at the opportunity when it was presented.
6. If you could live in any point in history when would it be and why? I really love living is this day and age. I'd love to feel what life was like in the late 1800s, early 1900s, but I don't know if I would like to stay there.
7. What is the most interesting job you have ever had? I'm not making this up, honest. My dad managed the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. I spent a summer there when I was in my early teens breaking empty liquor bottles. There was a law that the bottles had to be destroyed so they couldn't be re-filled, so every morning it was my job to take the empties from the night before and smash them into a garbage can. Ahhh... the glamorous life!

Tom, an absolutely terrific SuperMeMe. I am a big Georgia O'Keeffe art fan as well and you picked all great favorite bloggers. Breaking empty liquor bottles has got to be one of the most interesting jobs I have heard from anyone. Thanks for your tag but Sally and Linda Scanlan got me earlier. You done fine Mr. Tom, and I knew you were a musical soul at heart.
Tom, It's wonderful to see a post from you and especially a SUPER MEME. I love reading your blog and there's just not enough of it these days..... Georgia O'Keefe is one of my favourites too. Hey, I'm going to call you today or tomorrow....haven't talked with you in forever and we have some catching up to do.
thanks too for mentioning my writing in such glowing words....you're a sweetheart; course you already knew that. (((-;
Tom, thanks for the honor of being mentioned here. Your favorite musical artist certainly was no secret! Great minds must think alike -- here's my SuperMeme title from a couple weeks ago:
Tom ~ I recall some of what you posted from your previous "regular" MeMe's. What a stress reducer breaking those bottles must be! I would like that job now!
Tom - It was good getting a chance to chat with you for a few minutes earlier. I just posted about the potential Austin AR Gathering per our discussion. Thanks for naming me as one of your favorites - much appreciated! Talk to you soon!
Hi Tom...Even though we have somwhere over 92,115 members Active Rain remains, in many ways a small world.
Of the six bloggers you chose as your favorites, I subscribe to five of them and will now subscribe to the sixth (after all I subscribe to you and the five others you like so we must have similar taste). Thank you for reminding me that I am missing some good reading. I go there now to subscribe.
Kathleen
P.S. Kathy, that's easy. Just buy them, drink them, and break them.
Tom: Great me-me! You are quite an interesting guy. I was tagged three times too but I just haven't had the time to get to it. So much going on right now. You named some of the truly great bloggers.
Hey you crazy man! Thank you so so much for not tagging me for a MeMe. It would have been my fifth in the last coupld of weeks! And yours was fun reading.
Why Shugga, I should've known you'd like Paula Deen. She is one of my favorites too! The fun we could all have in the kitchen! :) Loved your post! You are the winner!
Teri - Happy you enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading yours.
Lysa - I knew you had good taste!
Judi - Looking forward to it... want to go back to Fredericksburg! Paula has a bread pudding recipe with Krispy Kreme donuts... I'm sure it doesn't compare to yours.
Dale - Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Tom, Yes, I told Don you want to go back to Fredericksburg and he ok -- we just need to know which day. Yeah, I saw Paula's Krispy Kreme donut bread pudding show -- I'm thinking it's waaaaay tooooo sweet!!!
Did somebody say breadpudding?
Tom - Enjoyed reading your Super MEME-MEME-MEME.
We love to watch Paula, especially when she cooks everything with butter. Don't tell Judi but I think Judi has Paula beat when it comes to breadpudding (with whiskey sauce).
Hi Tom, I've been away. Happy to find your Super MeMe upon my return. Paula Dean is one of my favorite food network hosts, I think she would be so much fun and yes, the food would be fabulous!
Many thanks for the mention, Tom. I know you are off enjoying your life, because I see you around here far too rarely recently. To think that we both had the same job as bottle breakers! If only my efforts resulted in paychecks rather than disorderly conduct citations. Wish I could make the get together in August, but I will have to send along my regrets. Texas in August? I'll take our bone dry 115 degrees all day long over that soggy madness.
Tom - I don't know if I can match you, but I will certainly give it a try!!! What an interesting life .... you really had to break those bottles??? No recycling back then.........
