The following is a brief report on "Big Head" keyword searches on Google that most likely will be utilized by consumers when searching for a Realtor or property listings in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. As a former Tyson's Corner resident, Virginia offers anyone fine country living at rock bottom prices.

What Are We Investigating?

How many Realtor stand alone blogs, Active Rain blogs, or websites grabbed one of the coveted Top 10 positions on Google searches:

1. "Charlottesville, Virginia Real Estate"

2. "Charlottesville, Virginia Realtor"

Note: Broker sites, affiliate sites, lead gen, media, or search engine sites will make up the majority of the Top 10 positions but they will not be measured

Google Search for "Charlottesville, Virginia Real Estate"

Results: Positions #1 Broker site virginiaestates.com; #2 virginiaestates.com; #3 Charlottesville Area Assoc. of Realtors

Two Realtor websites make the Top 10 Page 1 with #5 Virginia Gardner and #7 Len Mailloux

Analysis: Most of the Top 10 positions are Broker websites with poor Alexa traffic rankings. A Realtor with a stand alone blog could easily crash this page one because (a) No blogs exist here only websites which do not add fresh content daily thus their ability to fight off challenges from content driven bloggers places those sites in jeopardy and (b) none of the websites utilize "user content" models so no fresh content is being added--a blogger's dream

Google Search for "Charlottesville, Virginia Realtor"

Results: #1 Broker site Roy Wheeler; #2 Charlottesville Area Assoc. of Realtors; #3 Broker site virginiaestates.com

Realtor #5 Virginia Gardner; #7 Realtor Jim Duncan with a high powered blog ranked by Alexa.com at 242,550 Great job Jim!; #8 Len Mailloux; #9 Active Rain's very own Charles McDonald of mycharlottesvilleagent.com

Analysis: There is plenty of room to move up in both search phrases as only two blogs exist on these two Top 10 Page 1 searches. As each blogger continues to write and add fresh content, his blog will gain even more SEO juice, seasoning, and power to move up

What about Charlottesville Real Estate. It seems that more people are searching for Charlottesville real estate instead of Charlottesvile Virginia Real Estate.

Brad, Only 2 Realtor stand alone sites on Top 10 Charles McDonald #8 and Len Mailloux #9.

#1 CAAR; #2 Broker site; #3 Trulia. The rest are Broker, lead gen, media, or affiliate sites.

This is nearly the same as the search "Charlottesville, Virginia Real Estate.
