...it's just a difficult business to succeed in.  Don't get me wrong - succeeding in real estate isn't exactly rocket science.  There are no magic pills for being a multi-millionaire through real estate.  The systems are already there for you, whether you choose to follow a Craig Proctor or a Brian Buffini system.  The problem is focus and discipline.

I am teaching a lead generation course, and the basic tenet of the course is that the students need to lead generate for three hours a day.  I teach them all about where to find leads, how to work them, and how to follow-up with them... but the focus and discipline of actually DOING the work is where success or failure will hinge.

There need to be more classes on mindset to get agents on the right track.  The biggest problem, ironically, is that most agents don't want to attend such classes.  They feel that they are a waste of time - after all, they already know how to do the business, so why do they have to sit in a classroom??

Until you have discipline and focus down pat, it's something you must constantly push yourself towards.  Classes, coaching, mentoring, masterminds, and a multitude of other things will help you get there.

Utilize your resources!  And then, you'll be one of the multi-millionaires that I'm writing about someday!

Being consistent is the hardest thing a realtor has to do.

Have A Great Day

Maybe if you call it customer base building rather than lead generating (like all the emails we get each month) you'd get more attendees at your classes.

Heath, probably a good idea - unfortunately, I'm just trying to get my office agents to attend.  I'm not even trying to get others to attend (such as a seminar).  I like the term "customer base building".

Thanks for the comment!

Doris, you're exactly right!  It's not easy, especially in the beginning, but it can be replicated.

Yes, it isn't rocket science. It's enjoyable.

You've got to avoid the "busy work" trap and time-block for lead generating activities.

Going to class every now and then is so crucial to charge your brain, too. You should never stop learning in our industry!

Bill, great post, I think that too many of think that we're busy when we're not really doing what we should be doing.  Being consistent is the hardest thing to do.
