Boise has many sports teams, but we have not gotten any Pro teams - YET! Boise's main sport focus is around the Boise State Bronco's. Here are the teams Boise currently has;
Boise State Broncos - Football, Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling and more....(WAC Champions in many sports)
Boise Steelheads - Boise's hockey team and Kelly Cup Champions!
Idaho Stampede - Boise/Nampa's Basketball D-league team 07'-08' Champions
Boise Hawks - Boise's Minor League Baseball Team
Boise Burn - Boise's Arena 2 Football team
Le Bois Park - Horse racing track
War Eagle Speedway - In the planning and development stages, this great track will hosts hopefully NASCAR, Indy, dirt track, motocross, supermoto, bmx and drag racing
Meridian Speedway - 1/4 mile asphalt oval
Pleasant Valley Raceway - Dirt Oval, Motocross, Mud Drags
Firebird Raceway - Drag Racing
That covers our spectater teams and sports, but what about the sports you want to do? Well, Boise is a great place and provides many options with the great geographic diversity. Here is a list of the activitys to can do in or near Boise
Anything you can do on a river; boat, float, fish, swim, kayak!
There are 4 ski resorts with in a 2 hour drive and as close as a 1/2 hour.
There are hiking, biking, walking, motorcycle, ATV and off road trails all over the place. - Ridge to Rivers Trail System
There are many lakes close by for all those lake activities.
There are golf courses all over the place and each has its own style.
We have places for rock climbing, miniuature golf, and go-carts
Places for kids like Roaring Springs Water Park and Boondocks Fun Center
There are many fishing ponds all over the place.
We have a greenbelt system that runs along the Boise River and is great for walkers, runners, bikers, and roller bladers. This system runs through many parks and a BMX area.
There are many places all over the place for Tennis, Baseball, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Bowling, Soccer, Karate, Lacross and there are a few frisbee golf courses around.
There are also many skate parks and playgrounds scattered throuhout the valley.
There are some great places for real rock climbing with in 10 minutes of downtown.
If I forgot someones sport I am sorry, if there is a sport, you can most likely do it in Boise.
