What is delicious?
The simplest answer is del.icio.us is a social book-marking site. It allows you to bookmarks websites or pages, share them, find popular pages, or explore other users’ bookmarks. Don’t be concerned you can make your bookmarks private if you wish but that would take out the social aspect….
Why is del.icio.us better than my browser capability?
There are three reasons why I think del.icio.us is extremely powerful and useful. Del.icio.us is portable, meaning you can log into your account on any computer and access your bookmarks. Another reason is that each bookmark gets a tag or multiple tags. Just like how your blog posts on AR contain tags so do your bookmarks on delicious. This makes it extremely efficient on finding and searching for useful content. Lastly, the toolbar makes it so easy to use. It is simple and straight forward. Once you start using it you will never go back to that clunky browser bookmarks again.
What is a tag?
Tags are one word descriptors that help you organize. For example you would tag a real estate site with the tag “realestate”. If you wanted to search all of you “realestate” site there is a toolbar that let you easily do this.
Del.icio.us is simple to use and allows to easily import all of your browsers bookmarks when you first set it up. I hope you find it as useful as I do.
