Governor Charlie Crist signed a bill into law preventing homeowners associations from restricting American Flag Flying on homeowners property. This controvery made national news when a Clermont Florida Veteran fought his homeowners association for the right to fly the flag.
In you opinion has homeowners association gone too far in limiting what homeowners can do on their property.

Chris, I wonder if there could be a limit on the sixe of the flag?
BTW,
How's business in Spring Hill? Things are ticking up in our area.
you know HOAS need to step it back a few steps, if you want to regulate the size so every house does not fly those car dealer size flags fine ok but come on.
I think that some limitations are good, that help the overall look, like no unregistered vehicles on the property. When they dictate what are the acceptable colors I can paint the interior of my home, that's overkill. But telling anyone, especially a Veteran, that they can't fly the American Flag is absolutely ridiculous!
Hi Chris ... HOAs desire a uniform look. I don't see anything wrong with flying the flag. However, I always have to wonder if such a decision will lead to something absurd. What will the next guy want :)
The law Crist signed allows Florida homeowners to build a freestanding flagpole of 20 feet or less and fly a flag as large as 4.5 feet by 6 feet.
The federal Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005 limits HOA rules about flags. It limits the limits that HOAs or condos can enact. The Act itself is available here: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?tab=main&bill=h109-42
