Keywords-  The words you want to be found by.  Lets say you want you want to be found by Catmando real estate Arizona or Catmando homes for sale Arizona.  When you write an article or page on your website you want those words on the page  Bold and italicized at least 3% of the time.  You should be using them in the title of the page if possible.  For example "5 tips to improve curb appeal on your Catmando home for sale"  Somehow ( I don't know how they do it) but the search engine is able to see what the page is about.  You want to use your keywords on your pages.  But the trick is to make readers (consumers) not get tired of seeing those words or junking up your page.  You do not want to make it confusing or unreadable because you put the key words in the wrong spot or too many times.  Again if you use it too many times you will get penalized by the search engines, so don't go over board.

Content - is the amount of information you have about a topic.  So your real estate site should have lots of information on real estate or Catmando.  Content is king is according to SEO Experts.  In other words have all the information possible on your keywords.  Make your site a "must go to" when people are checking out Catmando or real estate in the area.  Have information about schools, police force, parks, styles of homes.   The more pages you have about your area will help you rank higher than other sites.  So start writing more pages about Catmando and real estate.

Good post Russ. I have been using key words and Google analytics in my blogs for some time now. Good to share the information with those who are not familiar with it.

Russ, your two points about keywords and content I have heard are critical for high SEO from many web site developers I talk to.

If we are writing about real estate in our local area and about the neighborhood, etc. the key words should be in the text. It is great to hear from you to confirm and point it out. Thanks.  Terrie

Russ you are right on the money. Keywords within your content are vital if you want to come up in searches for those terms.

Great tip, Im going to use that in future on our website www.offplanpropertyexchange.com is there

anything else we should be doing?

Russ, Here's a little Keyword density program that I like to use to check my key word density.  You are right about the 3%.  I was told to have the words you want at 2 to 3%.  If they are more than that they may think you are stuffing.
