Relocation Clients are a different client. Different in the fact that its all rush, rush. You can't squeeze in a couple of houses over a few weeknights.

Normally, as it was this weekend for me, it was a "hit the pavement fast and hard". We began early (9:00am) and I made the schedule begin with a vacant home. It's early to ask sellers to leave their home on a weekend. Normally I start at 10:00am, but we had a lot of homes to visit in a short amount of time.

Unfortunately, I only got word on Thursday that Mr. Buyer would be in town. Talk about clearing the schedule - fast. I knew exactly what would happen if I wasn't available.

I verify ahead of time who my passengers will be.  If kids are coming along, I allow extra time at homes, breaks for meals, supplies for entertaining in the car, and 'different' snacks.  This was just the Mr. so I grabbed both of us a large bottle of cold water and some snacks. No break was planned.

After we toured about six homes, we were able to cross a few off of the list. It's tough to pick them when he doesn't really know what PA homes look like. Hard for me to chose when I don't know his taste until we are out.

My camera is always within reach - and it came in handy to take some pictures for Mrs. Buyer who stayed with the kids in FL this trip.  The plan is that she'll visit me for a weekend and we'll spend it together as well.

I also have a hard clipboard with a container. I have the Client Copy of the homes we will visit & a map of the area on top. In the clipboard I have mints, hand santizer, highlighter, pen, pencil, paperclips, and index cards. (I have permanent marker with "Please return to Kim" at the top) *This is always a big hit.

It was a productive weekend. We narrowed down his area and also what his preferences are. I just hope Mrs. Buyer has a similar idea of what she would like when its her turn.

Kim, I like your idea of the clipboard with a container & filled with supplies, I've brought 3 ring binders with the buyers listings and some paper & a pen to take notes before, for relocation buyers.

Kim,

Always a big rush to get them to agree to anything.....then the process truly starts......hopefully the return trip is soon enough to keep what they have already seen is still fresh.

Mike, The clipboard was about $5.00 at Wally World. Great buy!  I use it for most clients that are in my car and seeing more than 3 or so.

Dan, No kidding! This same couple purchased their last home via internet sight unseen and didn't look back - love the house!  So.... I think they're gonna be easy (remind me about that if I'm wrong :)

Kim, somehow, I imagine that relocating to Pennsylvania  is easier than a lot of parts of the country.  Here, we  have to carry smelling salts if the buyers are from the south or the midwest!

Kim, relo buyers are hard, I get so exhausted. They are on a time crunch and you try to get them all in so they can make a good decision. When I have worked with Mr and Mrs comes later, sometimes she doesn't trust him and we have to start over......just in case. Hope that doesn't happen to you.

I love my reloaction Buyers, especially if they have moved a few times.  I know that they will buy within a certain amount of time and sell within a certain amount of time.  Military precision, I love it!
