Having been in the business sine 1996 and assisting three top producing agents. None of them went after expired or had a desire too. Now that I have taking the plunge and starting selling real estate under my own name now. I would like to drum up business and get my name out in the community.

Any tips on marketing yourself to expired listings would be greatly appreciated, nothing is too good for me. the whole reason that I began to sale for myself was that most agents follow the money return. Myself just want to see that person sale their home. Much like a doctor sure he charges you when you go visit but he is concerned about your health as well.

Heather- You need to be constant with whatever method or methods you chose to work with expireds. Please drop by the Expired Listings for Fun & Profit group. We discuss how to work with expireds etc. I am sure you will find some valuable information.

Best,

Hi Heather - I am also on the expired journey here in Tennessee.  I am keeping tabs on the MLS everyday and each listing that shows expired I immediately put a pre-printed postcard (my own creation) out in the mail. I think that people will look at postcard more than a letter in an envelope (at least that is my theory).  I have also been advised to follow up with a phone call - but I am still iffy on that one right now.  Good luck to you and keep us informed on how it going for you.

I think that Expireds are a great place to get listings I found when I was a newer agent that FSBO's were a better source for me.

When I first came into the business 10 years ago, I started my business with just expireds and it took off.  The key was that you had to be the first one to call in the am...usually 8:30 and I did get the appointment.  It has made it extremely difficult for realtors in New Jersey now because of the do not call list.  We can't call or knock and now we have to get creative.
