Do you stop commenting at 10 Posts?

Is it all about the points?

I think that we all agree that we love points.  We want to rank the highest in our  area and we all want to be #1, or at least I do (and yes I know I have a long way to go).

I try to read posts everyday and comment on 10.  I have a pretty good idea how many posts I have commented on at any given time and  I have even continued to read posts and comment after my ten were used up, imagine that.

Do you think that we would have a stronger network if we were awarded points for continuing to read and comment (even at a much small ratio)?

With the amount of membership growing, there are so many great posts out there to read and interact with that I think  a diminishing scale of points would continue to encourage members to read and write and build a stronger network.

What do you think?

I will go on forever....although I probably need to spend more time on the posts in my groups.

No I don't stop at 10, but sometimes, time doesn't allow for more.  Its like a measuring stick.  If you do this much, at least you'll get the value of what Active Rain is about.  If your read and comment on 10 posts, than your that much more knowledgeable in this business.  Thanks for blogging.  Lu

I think 10 is a healthy limit. We all need to go interact with (gasp) people from time to time.

I like it the way it is, I read and comment until.........I have learned so much in a short amount of time and I still have a long way to go.  Does the word addict say anything?

I usually do 10.5 comments a day. I want to stay in the average.

Actually I comment much more than 10, but to only the blogs which I like. If I wasn't interested in the blog I read, I just move on to the next one.

Team DiMuria - There are so many posts and not enough time.  Sometimes in the evening I'll read and comment because of the quality of a post.

Lu - I agree.  I have learned so much here at AR that I think it is time well spent and I want everyone to know that I value this platform.

Rob - Real people, in the flesh... what a concept.  There is some truth to that I love real buyers and sellers.

Sean -  I love the 10.5, that's funny.  I'm glad that you found me before you met your quota.

I'm right there with you.

I comment on  a lot I don't really keep track over 10 post, but love my points and have a long way to go. I am so addicted to reading this post sometimes I just I to tell my self to stop!

Debbie - I'm addicted, so I comment on as many posts as I can :)

Some days it's not easy to even comment on 10 even though I read many more than that. I don't pay attention - if I'm on a roll, I comment regardless of the number I reach

I think it's hard to get to 10! I just don't have the time!

04/08/2008 08:52 PM by LaNita Cates (REMAX of Joliet)

Shannon - I know, I sit with my laptop and watch tv and read during commercials...  My husband comes into the bedroom each night and says give the laptop to me, you've reached your quota.

Maria - I hear you, I'm addicted to.  There is so much to learn, so much to see, so many people that I enjoy to follow.  I drink a lot of coffee.

LaNita - I wish I had more time too...  There is just so much you can do in a day.

Debbie, I do more than 10, but don't keep an exact score?  I think it is mostly about time.  There are so many, it is hard to keep up with all of them!

04/09/2008 07:25 PM by Audrey June-Forshey, GRI, Gaithersburg, MD (RE/MAX Realty Group)

when I get over my ten comment limit........I just go in and give myself more points :-) haha!

Audrey - You are so right, there is never enough time... So many great posts and people, it's great to see that we keep growing.

Bob Stewart- Wow, thanks for stopping by my blog...  I feel so special!  I love you guys!

I try to comment on 10 a day but I have to admit that I don't usually make it. I most often go on to read blogs by people who have stopped by my blogs. I know it is costing me points but I still learn a lot every day.

04/11/2008 11:03 AM by Shannon Aldrich ~ NH & Maine Real Estate Seacoast (Keller Williams Coastal Realty)

Shannon - I do the same thing, I always feel grateful for comments and try to return the compliment to others.

04/12/2008 09:57 PM by Debbie Summers - Move To Lake Mary! (RE/MAX Central - Florida)

The limit on points for commenting is a good thing for me ~ I would never get any work done!

I read a lot of blogs, sometimes I comment, sometimes I don't. Commenting is a good habit to get into though. It definitely creates relationships here on AR.

04/12/2008 10:18 PM by Nancy Kent, RE/MAX Hill & Valley, Western Mass (RE/MAX Hill & Valley)

Debbie, no reason to stop at 10.  I read all that interest me during a day and don't worry too much about the points.

04/13/2008 07:21 AM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Nancy - I know what you mean, I had to wait on someone today and I actually got to read posts for about 30 minutes on my Blackberry... it was great.

04/14/2008 10:22 PM by Debbie Summers - Move To Lake Mary! (RE/MAX Central - Florida)

Brian - It isn't all about the points...  I'm happy when I have the time to contribute to the group.
