The spring home-sales season is here and it is time to SELL!
It is crucial to simplify or streamline the furniture in a room for better traffic flow and to enhance its spaciousness. You should neutralize a too-personal color scheme or add touches of color or accessories where needed. In vacant homes that feel cold and lack bring in rental furniture and create "vignettes," say, a seating area in front of the fireplace.
Staging helps exhausted buyers "mentally move in."
Contrary to what you might think, it's about more than preparing the house for sale. Staging comes AFTER you've cleaned, decluttered, painted and made minor repairs. Before you even CONSIDER the staging of your home, DO THIS!
1. De-Personalize.
Does your home scream MOVE IN or I live here, look at me?
2. De-Clutter!
Do you need it? Do you use it? Can you live without it?
3. Rearrange Bedroom Closets and Kitchen Cabinets.
Can you find what you are looking for? Do you have enough space?
4. Rent a storage unit.
Too much furniture? Too many things you don/t need /never use?
5. Remove/Replace Favorite Items.
Are you planning to take your light fixtures?
6. Make Minor Repairs
Do you have chipped paint, creeky door or a broken water faucet?
7. Make the House Sparkle!
When was the last time you cleaned your windows, scrubbed your floor or swept the stairs?
8. Scrutinize.
Approach your home, from the street, and inspect it as though you have never been there before. Would you buy it?
9. Check Curb Appeal.
You cannot sell the house if they don't get out of the car!
