Hello Rain Makers -

You have to know your client; you have become there "MY GUY".  People want to refer; they want to tell people about good experiences, they want to refer people that know them, people who have treated them the way we all want to be treated.  How often do you hear or even say; "you have to use my mechanic", "you have to use my hairdresser".  The question is, with you current database, are you their "GUY"?   One way to begin to solidify that relationship is to become a part of their lives, not just part of the transaction.  It is very important that in this marketplace (or any marketplace for that matter!) you take all of the necessary steps to quickly change from someone who has provided them with a service to there "my guy". 

HOW DO YOU DO THIS?

It is the simple things that please people...it is the monthly QUALITY MAILERS that show you are thinking about them (AND NO...SENDING A JUST LISTED, JUST SOLD CARD IS NOT A QUALITY MAILER...THEY DON'T CARE).  The acknowledgment of birthdays, anniversaries of transactions.  Knowing hobbies and special interests and kids names.

One person can't keep track of all of this information clearly, so the answer is...the proper use of a database.  What do I always say...your database is your current and future pay day in any marketplace.
