Orange County Home Owners - You may be able to save on your property taxes but hurry, there is only one week left to save. You must file by March 31, 2008.
In 1978, a constititutional ammendment was made that allowed California homeowners a temporary reduction in assessed value when the property suffers a decline in value.
Well, it is no secret that California is SUFFERING! If you would like to find out if you qualify for LOWER PROPERTY TAXES you can go on line to the Assessor's website at:
You must be able to prove that on January 1, the market value of your property was less than its current assessed value.
Also, you must file a claim form for a Decline-in-Value Reassessment Application (prop 8) with the Assessor between January 1st and December 31 for the fiscal year beginning on July 1.
Not too sure if your value has dropped and don't want to do all the work if not? Give me a call and I can help you determine if your value may be lower than when originally purchased. It can't hurt to take a look!
We know the market has been volatile, to say the least. Why not find out if you can lower your property taxes? There is a deadline for March 31, 2008 in Orange County for this year. Not enough time to get it together by the 31st? Don't worry, you can still get started and get the ball rolling for next year!
