Anytime you can garner a Number 1 ranking from Forbes, I guess it is time to crow a little.

And Forbes has delivered again, labeling the Raleigh Metro Area #1 for Business and Careers.

Who am I to disagree?  I love it here in Cary, in the Raleigh Metro Area.  And it feels great to be a sincere booster for my chosen home town.

We have great economic engines in the Research Triangle Park, wonderful NC State University, and North Carolina State government.

We have high levels of education, with a great percentage of the population holding advanced degrees.

And we are continuing to attract top talent from around the country.

And Durham, NC, with many fine attributes landed at Number 12.

All in all a good day!

Mike, I have always heard great things about your area!  Congrats on Forbes figuring it out also.

Marchel,

Thanks!

I wonder if Forbes has had our fantastic Eastern NC pulled pork barbecue?

We would be Number 1 for life!

What's not to love about the Triangle? We have great weather most of the time; great jobs; we're close to mountains and beaches - plus we can be in Atlanta in 6 hours or Washington, D.C. in 4 hours!

(By the way, the Eastern, NC vinegar-based pork 'que rocks!)

I don't know if it's still true - but in the 70s we were known as the area with the highest concentration of PHDs in the South.  I would agree that this is a high honor and would not be surprised if the accolades of the 70s still hold true.  I think it helps to contirbute to our great schools and SCORES!

Eleanor,

I have heard that more recently.

Or, maybe it is that long tail at work?
