Lizette FitzpatrickSo Today...it rains in Kentucky.

I'm wondering now about the 6 weeks of bad weather the groundhog predicted. Maybe it is just fresh on my mind, but we have really have had too much snow this year. This frog on my porch table seems to be clearly upset that he has to be hanging out in the snow.

I can't much blame him. Chanel is not too fond of it either.

It hasn't bothered my clients because I have been swamped with showings and interest on my own listings. Many of my relocation clients for Kentucky horse farms have already been here or will be here this next week. I hope all of you here on Activerain have seen a surge of activity in your real estate business.

I have a feeling that 2008 is really going to be a good year!

19 Comments on We Are Waiting For Spring Here in Kentucky

Spring is starting to pop out all over in Las Vegas....FINALLY, we've had a long cold winter (for us).  It was 75 here today and I'm loving it!

If that dog has booties on I am going to scream! Seriously, Lizette, what is the average size of a Kentucky horse farm? I know that's a fairly generic question. What would be the average price of a four bedroom home on, say, 50 acres?

Hi Lizette - I think 2008 will be a great year as well, but I just wish we could get out of this snow dumping pattern we're stuck in up here in NH.  We've had so much snow up here - enough already!  We've got another storm coming tonight into tomorrow, 6-9 inches more of the white stuff.  Ski areas love it, and I'm happy for them, but I'm really ready for SPRING!!!

Hey Lizette, definately things are busier in Portland, tell the folks in Kentucky it's time to thaw!

Okay, maybe 50 acres is too big a farm? I'll shut up and let you answer my question.

I seem to think you are right. So far the beginning of 08 hasn't been to bad either.

There are some fabulous properties here. A 5 acre property will be enough for 2 horses.

I might be making Chanel some boots if this snow keeps up.

Mary - I'd just die and go to heaven if it was 75 out on my deck about now.

Ann - I would go crazy if I had to deal with that much snow. I've had enough already.

Keith - It's good to hear you are busy there in Portland. That's one place I haven't visited.

Deanna - I really think this year is shaping up to be a great one!

Lizette, that is some hefty Froggie.... Does Chanel chase him? The Forsythias are blooming and 60's are the forecast. for the weekend. Oh I am so glad we left the snow behind in NY.. Especially this winter! Stay Cozy!

Lizette--So that's where all of our snow has gone to...You can keep it! I'm ready for spring. (Tell Chanel it melts quickly!) It has started to get busy around here too...Maybe 2008 will be the turn around!

Lizette, we have had no winter to speak of this year in Texas, except Amarillo, and the North has been walloped. That frog doesn't look like he will be seeing spring with his frosty self!

Uh....vog yesterday...beautiful blue sunny skies today. And our market has picked up just a tad... I too...hope 2008 will be better!

we have had 3 weeks of wonderful weather that has melted about 2 feet of the 5 feet of snow - but we are expecting another foot tonight - JOY of JOYS

Ginger - Chanel would be more likely in letting the frog chase her. She doesn't move too fast. It might mess up her hair!

Teri - I am soooo ready for it this year. I want to go work out in the yard with my plants.

Gary - You are one of the lucky ones!

Sally - I would love to work in Hawaii everyday. How beautiful would that be?

Thesa - I would be crazy by now if I had that much snow! You have my sympathy!

OK, now I am cold again! Just looking at those photos :-)

Love that little snow bunny baby!    Come on,  SPRINGTIME!    One snow a year is enough for me in TN.    Hard to believe it's March 1 already.   Two months in and 2008 needs to keep on getting greater.   Glad you are busy with clients.

Hi Lizette,

Wow I am surprised that you have that much snow in Kentucky! I thought you might receive some but it would not stay. Froggy looks like he has had enough but Chanel looks like she is loving it with her little face full of snow!! I am happy that you are having a good year!

03/03/2008 10:05 AM by Trace Galle (Stages by Trace)

Charles - It seems spring will never get here. We have one day that is 70 degrees but it is so windy you don't want to be out in it. Now it is cold again!

Connie - We are hoping it is right around the corner. It was good to get an email from you. Maybe 2008 is going to be a good one!

Trace - Chanel gets out there and meanders(that might be a Southern word) around. The snow sticks on her in clumps! She looks too funny when she tries to shake it off!

03/05/2008 08:41 AM by Lizette Fitzpatrick, Lexington KY Real Estate (Central Kentucky - Prudential Don Foster - Richmond KY)

Hi Lizette,

No, we use meander too, up here in the North!(land of the cold and snow teehee) Actually Kelowna is semi-arid we are wine country and have orchards. Speaking of the South though we are heading south at the end of the week! Looking so forward to it. You have a great couple of weeks and a Happy Easter.

The snow also sticks to Kiann's fur especially to her paws and sometimes she has a hard time walking with all the little snowballs on her paws.
