I had the great pleasure this week to be able to travel down to the SF Bay Area to present Christine Rae with the RESA Staging Industry Innovator of the Year Award.  I was able to surprise Christine with the presentation and she was gracious enough to allow me to address her class for a few minutes regarding the benefits of RESA and why its important to support your trade association.

What an amazing surprise when I walked in the room and saw, Lori Polk,  Maureen Bray, Lachelle Johnson, Kym Hough, Lisa Dickson (stager idol finalist) and Terrylynn Fisher.

I wanted to point out that ALL of these wonderful smart women have taken previous staging training and were back for more. I also wanted to point out that Kym Hough is a stager that makes a six figure income and she still finds worth in seeking out further education.

RESA will be launching a Continuing Education Program for existing stagers in the next few months. We will have short but affordable courses so stagers can keep adding to their arsenal of knowledge. The courses are being created by some amazing staging training providers. We have a list of 23 different courses to choose from. After you take one or two you may just want to take the entire program from the training provider, which is always a good idea.

Kudos to all of you for sharpening your tools!!

Sounds interesting Shell.  Will the courses be offered in cities across Canada and the U.S. or will they be distance education type programs?

Shell- I must say that it's been so nice seeing so much of you lately, from the RESA roundtable that was just last month, to earlier this week when you presented Christine with her award!  I love that RESA will be introducing a continuing education for stagers.  Realtors have the opportunity and I think it's great that we will as well.  I think it's so important to keep up with trends and sharpen our skills with our peers... it really shows that we are beginning to set standards within our industry.  Maybe, like Realtors earn DRE credits, we could earn some type of credits as well?  *oooh*

Aloha,

Lachelle

Shell, you forgot me girlfriend! Remember... we hugged... I am so, so very sad ;)   You need to add me to the list on your Blog.  And, yes, what a wonderful experience it was to have Christine there, let alone, all the other experienced professional stagers. I just didn't want to leave.

Shell,

It was great to see you this week as well, and to witness your presenting the Staging Innovator of the Year award to Christine.  I was honored to be in the company of such talented and experienced stagers in this CSP class ~ it is a great testament that we can always learn more to sharpen our skills.  Now I'm looking forward to learning more about RESA's online continuing ed classes!  Thank you for all that you're doing for our industry!

Thanks for bringing it up.  The wonder of the class was the experience in the room, the humility of the participants and the skill level from which to learn more from each other.  The property we staged was a truly great sample of what Realtors are up against on a daily basis, and it is phenomenal...we are waiting for an offer.  Thanks for coming and for doing all you do.

Shell,

It was great to see so many seasoned veterans finding value in additional education. I had such a great time getting to know everyone and learning from their experiences. I think it is great that RESA is going to start continuing education so that it is available for all stagers, but I also think it is important to note that CSP alumni have access to great continuing education programs issued through CSP via online training. The classes vary in topic and are presented by experts in each area or niche of staging.  CSP's can also gain designations based on experience and numbers of continuing education credits achieved.

Keep up the good work,

Lisa

This is GREAT Shell!  I can't wait to see the classes offered and truly feel there is a need for continuing education for our industry - especially as it is growing so rapidly.  Thank you for all the hard work you do!
