I wanted to start my blog by talking about how those of us in the real estate community can give back to the communities which we serve by volunteering or serving in capacities that relate to our personal desires and/or passions.

I don't know if you can tie a dollar value to this kind of service but I know you can put an intrinsic value to giving back to the community by seeing young people grow and develop as not just athletes but as individuals who are given a taste of what it means to succeed at something.

I have begun volunteering my time and my personal passion for track and field by assisting the South Gwinnett High Track as a volunteer assitant coach. I also am coaching a local track club, Rate of Motion Elite Track Club.

I will let you know how the kids I personal work with on the school team and the track club do and if I find it helps my real estate business out I will share that as well.

Look in future blogs for how Cortez Johnson and Derrick Brown do as well as others.

Our first meet is Saturday at Central Gwinnett High and I am going to have to juggle my business and volunteer work. I will let you know how I ended up taking care of my client and my athletes.

You're right on with this one!  I admire your taking the time out of your day to help these kids and I'm sure that they appreciate it too!  Way to go!

One thing that I like about working in real estate is that I have the time to volunteer at the food bank. It is nice to see you including such an idea in your post.

It helps to be involved in our communities so that people see us for who we are people just like them who want to make the places we live better and contribute to the quality of life we all enjoy.

Welcome to Active Rain Sean. Great first post - I think real estate is very rewarding in what we can give to our communities and what it gives back to us. I've met so many wonderful people in the community doing volunteer work - all made possible by the flexibility of real estate!

Our first meet was a success and I was very proud of the team and how they performed overall.

Our 4x100 A won their races with a time 43.2 and our B also placed 6th.

Cortez Johnson who I personally coach and train ran the anchor leg of the 4X100 and also ran the 100 with a time of 11.7 and placed 5th. His time weren't as good as I had hope at this stage but he has also been dealing with shin splints which continue to work with to try to get him healed. He also ran 3rd leg in the 4x400 relay and had a good split 55 which puts him well on his way to going sub 50 by mid season.

Derrick whom I also personally train ran 1st leg of the 4x400 and the 4x100 his split was 52 we need to keep him going and get him under 50 as well and we will have a super 4x400 team. The 4x400 A got second by just 1/100th of second.

The next meet is on Saturday at Peachtree Ridge High School and will be a good meet. Stay tuned for those results.

In 2 weeks we head to Florida for a meet in Daytona and I look for good things from my boys and the rest of the team at that meet.

I think the great thing about real estate is I get to do things I love and help people so it never seems like work. I love real estate.
