The Pursuit Of Happyness
Wow what a movie this is and it got me to thinking. What makes the differeince in a sucessful person and a complete failure? I watched this movie and was drawn in by Will Smith's ability to make me part of the movie. I also was thinking about Chris Gardner the real man. Chris ( Will Smith ) finds himself falling on hard times. His wife leaves him with his small son to raise and making a living selling a medical device is impossible. Things just keep happening to him that would caused anyone else to give up. Not Chris Gardner, He wanted somthing and he was going to get it. I do not want to give the movie away but I will tell you that he ask the guy driving the Farrari a question. This question leads him to endure homelessness in order to obtain the dream.
I was wondering how many people would have done what he did to get a job? I hear people every day complain about what they do not have and give up on those they love. Not a happy way of life. Here is a man who does not give up on himslef or his son. Wow, there is a "real man"
He also, does not ask for handout, he ask for a chance. In this day and age everyone wants somthing for free and to be treated like they deserve it before they earn it. Not Chris Gardner, all he wants is the chance. A chance at a good life and he will make his own way for him and his son, a chance at happyness. Does he get it? Well, go se the movie. Notice at the end of the movie a tall man dressed in a fine suit walking past Will Smith. See if you can guess who that is.
I loved this movie and I agree that this is the difference between succeeding and failing in life. You can never give up, just keep going. I have a poster on my computer that says that at its heart, achievement does not require more time, energy, money or resources than you already have. It is a matter of clearly focusing on what you want out of life. The wealthiest person in the world got that way utilizing exactly the same number of hours in each day that are available to everyone else. Success depends not so much on what you have to work with, but on what you do with it.
I just recently started a Staging business and am in the process of advertising my company. I have a specific dream of helping people sell their homes and also just helping them to realize the full potential and beauty of their home.
The American dream; we all have the potential of achieving it and I am ready to keep going until I have a very successful staging and design company.
I love your comments on the movie.
