I’d driven by Trolley’s on 135th Street many times, so we finally decided to stop in and try it! We went on a Friday evening around 7:00 and the wait was only about 15 minutes. While waiting for a table we went to the massive bar area to grab a drink. There were multiple flat screen TV’s and a large projection TV playing sports. All the chairs at the bar were full, but there wasn’t a crowd of people standing around, so it wasn’t difficult to get a drink. The restaurant itself has a lot of exposed brick and even has an old movie marquee that said Happy Birthday to Sarah! We were seated at table, but I wish we could’ve sat at a booth because they are under an arch of bricks. Very cool effect.

We started with the Thai Lettuce Wraps which were absolutely delicious. They were made of chicken, mushrooms and water chestnuts served with carrots, red cabbage, rice noodles and lettuce cups and came with two sauces. These had quite a bite to them, but were very memorable.

My wife and I ordered the same entrée, the Chicken Azteca which was chicken topped with onions and peppers, Cajun corn, black beans and white queso. The waiter kindly informed us that BBQ sauce usually comes on it as well, but is not mentioned on the menu. We both opted out of that because it didn’t seem to go with the other ingredients! The meals were tasty and the portion sizes were good. I must admit that we enjoyed the appetizer more than the entrees, but it was still a great experience. I’m sure we will stop into Trolley’s again!
