I'm told that there is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa . For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few years back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos (all angles) of the rock.
I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock.

Some of President Bush's Address to the Nation after 9/11/2001 is written on the side.
"We will not waver; we will not tire; we will not falter; and we will not fail. Peace and Freedom will prevail."

When I saw this pic of the side - all the memories of 9-11 came rushing back. It's hard to believe it has been over 5 years.
I like the quote from JFK:
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of freedom."
"We will confide in our strength without boasting of it; we respect that of others without fearing it."
Thomas Jefferson 1793

Here's the artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen.

Way cool! Thanks, Bubba! I'm glad to hear that people aren't going back and painting graffiti over it!
