Now, let's also look at the second, more practical definition.  We said that procrastination is the behavior of avoidance disguised as disorganization, reasons-excuses, or blame.  What are some examples of each as they relate to the less than desired success of your business?  Complete the sentences below to demonstrate what some of these choices might be.

Areas I need to organize in order to be more successful include:

1.

2.

3.

I have not organized these areas because:

(Please note, "I don't have time" I am not good at organizing things, I have too much to organize, or I haven't gotten around to it yet are no acceptable answers in this activity.)

The reason I am not as busy as I could be is:

I would have more listings if:

I would have an easier time selling my listings if:

I would take the time to generate leads but:

I would have a database set up with a marketing plan except:

I would attend more trainings, take advantage of coaching, or educational material and implement it in my business, but the problem is:

The market has specifically hurt my business because I can't:

7 Comments on Is there really a good answer to these questions?

Dennis: These are great questions. I'm making a note here to answer them. After I get up in the morning and read the paper, eat breakfast, get dressed, get my car washed and head in to the office to get my assistant on the right track with her projects and answer my e-mail and file a few papers and send off some next day air letters and proof my ads for this week and clear a space on my desk, I'll have some great answers, I promise!

I started to paste your questions in the comment block, and then erased it because my wife yelled at me.  It's 1 AM and I need to get up in the morning for our office meeting, then meet a client and put together a listing, make fliers, stick a sign in the yard, lockbox, etc.  So, I am being banished from AR for the evening morning.  i'll try to get back to this later.

These are great questions and make good food for thought. I believe that organization and time management are key in business success. Spending some time each day reviewing your goals and to-do list will make you more effective and productive in both your personal and business life.

I have a vision board.  My goals go there and it is set up on a cork-board backing so new goals can be put up and old goals taken down.

I have a "Perfect Day" set up for each day so I have a schedule to go by.

The reason I haven't implemented some ideas that I want to do is lack of funds for these ideas.

The market hasn't specificially hurt my business, the credit crunch has affected my ability to have escrows due to ready and willing buyers not being ABLE to qualify for loans.

Thanks Dennis. If I can't take the time to answer these, I must not really care. And I do. And I will.
