I recently showed homes to a single, retired woman. When I went to go pick her up, I opened the car door for her. Each time we got in and out of the car, I did the same and made my best effort to make her feel extra special. I am not trying to toot my own horn, but this goes to the question: How do we treat our clients?
1. Do we look at them as a burden when we are already too busy (a good problem to have, but still challenging)?
2. How do we deal with those that get on our last nerve (looked at 40 houses and still haven't found "the one")?
3. Do we bring our personal baggage with us when we are with our clients?
I look at showing homes like taking my client on a tour of dreams. That is really in essence what we are doing. We are helping to make their dream become a reality instead of a nightmare. We are our clients personal guide to the buying/selling process helping them to navigate through the muck and mire of the negotiations and into that dreamy place they call their home.
