2  things i want to share with you today:

  • Use the keyword tool on your adwords account.
  • How can you preview a PPC AD that is running in certain area of the USA?

KEYWORD TOOL

As you probably know, many real estate companies spend thousands of dollar worth of clicks for major keywords.  My advice to you is to go after a target keyword that may have lest advertiser competition.  This can lower your cost per click and, bring you on a higher position.  For example, if you are in Goodyear Arizona, the most competitive keyword is "Goodyear homes for sale".  Competing on this keyword may be good because of the volume of people looking for this.  Although you may be able to switch words and appear on a better result.  Although Google cannot guarantee the position of your ad, less competition means less cost per click and higher position.  I´m not saying you should not use the first combination for a keyword.  In these type of advertising, you try and if it doesn´t work you change it until you find the equilibrium. (SEE CHART BELOW)

Use the Keyword tool on your adwords campaign to find the right keywords.  Follow this path: go to campaign summary, adgroup, (campaign name), keyword tool.  Try as much combinations as you can and then go after those that can help you the most.  Always consider advertiser competition and search volume.

  • How can you preview a PPC AD that is running in certain area of the USA?

You have to build your own Google query string. This is pretty simple. Use the following example, paste it into the address bar and modify it according to your needs:
http://www.google.com/search?adtest=on&hl=en&q=camping+tents&gr=US-IL&gcs=Chicago

After &q= you add the keywords you want to check, connected by +, e.g. Arizona+Real+Estate

After &gr= you add the state of the USA you want to check, e.g. &gr=US-CA to check if the ad appears for searches made from within California

After &gcs= you can check if the ad appears for searches made from within a certain city in the USA e.g. &gsc=losangeles THIS IS OPTIONAL. You do not need to specify a city.
