The Homeless in Spokane Washington

Hello Everyone,

Besides being a Spokane Real Estate Expert I also work on keeping an eye on our community. We have seee problems with homelessness all over the country and we are no exception. About 1/3 of the people homeless have mental disorders and another 1/3 some type of drug addiction. Then there are those who have just had some hard times and haven't been able to receive enough help.

A man was found dead recently under the freeway in jeans and a tee shirt. It's freezing outside and while many of us enjoy the warmth of our house and lives, there are those who literally are freezing. I saw a lady by the side of the road the other day with a sign. You know the will work for food sign. People are skeptical and figure, they choose it, or they are going to buy beer or drugs if I give them something, but the fact is that if they have to sit out in the cold and beg for money for a beer they are still worse off than you. Many of them may need help and they suffer because people figure it's a scam. Let's not throw the needy out with the beer scammers.

Man in need People's heart needs to enlarge and realize that to give up a few bucks is not going to cause a upset in your life. But as the scrptures say in the last days the love of many grows cold. This can be felt in the winter months as people are struggling and people just ignore them. It would be good for people to stand out on a corner one day and ask for help. Then you would know what it feels like to not be heard.

Where are Social Services? In Philly, they 'force' people to come in from the cold and put them in shelters.

May God bless you & your business. I have a homeless brother somewhere around there, we haven't heard from him in 3 years! But, I tracked him to a shelter there where he'd last been seen in 2006. He has mental issues, and there is no way we can find him now.

To care for the needy, the homeless, the widows and orphans is the greatest way to show the love and compassion that Christ has shown us.

It's obscene that we have homelessness to this extent in America. How can America claim to be the "greatest nation on earth" and at the same time tolerate homelessness, poverty and child hunger?
