Whether you are for or against the property tax amendment known as Amendment #1, this has to irk you.  About 40 cities and counties in Florida have banned together along with the Florida League of Cities to send out a direct mail piece to get you to vote no.  Your property tax dollars are being spent on this direct mail campaign.  The Orlando Sentinel has called this mailer "the big lie" according to a recent article .  Radio station WDBO also has an article about this on their website.

The truth is for you to determine.  What I don't like is my tax dollars being spent to tell me how to vote.  That is a sorry use of my hard-earned tax dollars and again re-emphasizes how out of control government spending is.

Some of the local cities and counties involved include the cities of Oviedo, Lake Mary, and Winter Garden, and Seminole County.  I am going to let my county commissioners know what I think about their spending habits. I urge you to do the same.
