If you need furniture for an empty space or need to update what you have; you may be in luck.  There are some affordable options on the market that are not only inexpensive, but they look great and are versatile enough to be used for multiple purposes.

The following items are all under $500.00 which makes them both space and budget conscious.  They are available at most large retailers so they are accessible to everyone and can work in a variety of different ways with a little personal inspiration.

1.  Expedit Bookshelf from IKEA - This bookshelf is available in multiple sizes and can also be used as a room divider.

2.  Parsons Desk from West Elm - This desk is super-sturdy and attractive.  It is also big enough to be used as a small dining table.  If you are looking for a good deal, focus on the seasonal colors which are being retired.

3.  Sapien Book Towers from Design Within Reach - These towers are a study, space-saving alternative to traditional bookshelves.  I have found that they fit in places where other furniture won't.

4.  Leaning Bookshelf from Crate & Barrel - This design has recently been updated and is better than ever!

5.  Lack Wall Shelves from IKEA - Available in two sizes and multiple colors, the hardware can be hidden to present a sleek place to store multiple items.
