Jeff,

The scams never end.....if these individuals put this effort into being legally productive....well it will never happen.

Thanks for the post.

I am getting this email around 1 - 3 times a day - always goes to my bulk mail.......

Dan.  It would be nice to set a string operation, but most of these scams are out of the country.  Maybe we need to work together as a whole, but I really don't see that happening soon.

Julie  So am I.  It has been going into my regular email, so I always report it as spam.  Also, the amount changes too.

The IRS would NEVER NEVER send an email.  If you get an official letter from them it will reference a badge number of the employee and tell you your information.. you do NOT have to supply your information.  If I win something I did NOT enter. a contest for instance, then I know its a scam and into the SCAM ALERT bin it goes!  Thanks for the headsup on this one Jeff.

Charlie.  Just bringing it up, because people are falling for it.  I just don't get it.

I have not received it, yet.  I always delete anything from a Bank, Credit Union, etc.  I will add IRS to my delete list.

Gail Good call.  I don't think the IRS wants to give back anymore money than they have too.

Rick. I am also getting a lot of banks too.  They keep saying my account is suspended.  They are some crafty jerks.

I receive that same email for a tax refund every week or two. It is frustrating, but there is really little we can do about it.  I still love this photo about the email scam we've all received wanting our bank info ...

01/17/2008 08:53 AM by Teresa King, e-PRO Mobile, Daphne & Fairhope,AL (RE/MAX By the Bay)

I just got an email like that from my broker and when I "clicked here" it was a monkey with the verbage "gotchya" on it. I thought it was funny.

Renee   Who knows.  I guess whatever the general masses fall for.

Jeff--They were warning us on our local news about these scam emails from the IRS. The IRS will never contact you via email about your refund or requesting information. Good warning and reminder to everyone!

01/17/2008 01:58 PM by Teri Eckholm, REALTORĀ® Anoka County Acreage & Lakeshore Homes (Keller Williams Premier Realty)

I've gotten two of those same ones in the past 2 weeks. I delete. I'm surprised people would believe the IRS actually contacts you by email! Good post.

Teri  That is good about the news picking it up as now the Tax season begins.

LaNita  I suppose when someone sees they can get some money fast they jump on it.  It really is a shame.
