Jeff, we all want to save the earth for future generations but most of us don't want to pay more.. I think the key would be to pay less to get more subscribers to Green Choice?  Our leaders need to figure out how to do it with less money... not more.

Gail  The thing is, is that you get to keep this rate until 2020.  So when fuel charges are 7-8 cents you are way ahead.  That is the point.  The money goes into creating more solar and wind products.

I think this is a great idea to have a fixed rate for so darn long!  We have been SOAKED here in Nevada with the "western energy crisis" from years ago.  We have had our prices go up 50% this year, you read that right!  Our utilities were stuck in contracts, had credit ruined and now need to move on to green power initiatives (which ain't so bad!)

The only reason why I personally wouldn't want to be stuck in a contract that long is that personal green power is becoming cheaper and cheaper & more aesthically pleasing.  I am looking into photovoltaic shingles for my house.

Renee  If you get the energy from Greenchoice you have the option to keep it that long.  If you move I am pretty sure you lose it.  Plus, if you get personal UVP's then can get most of your energy there and not on the grid.  So you will have double the green power.
