Holiday Beef RoastOpen House MenuOur Best Cheesecake

Why do we eat so much during Thanksgiving and Christmas?

  • It's cold outside and there's nothing else to do.
  • Don't want to hurt the host's feelings.
  • It's only a couple of times a year, what can it hurt.
  • It's a long time until bathing suit and shorts weather.
  • We must set an example for the children to eat everything on our plates.
  • Don't want to find containers for the leftovers.
  • Won't taste as good heated up.
  • Grandpa may finish off the good stuff before tomorrow.
  • To see how much our plates will hold.
  • Store up enough food...its going to be a long winter.
  • Instead of putting your foot in your mouth...put another piece of pie in it instead.
  • Because We Can!!

6 Comments on Reasons We Eat Too Much During Holidays

Hi Cindy:  All that food in your pictures makes me very hungry.  I have been sitting here trying to figure out which one I should eat, and I have finally decided.  I will have some of each, please.  That cheesecake looks especially good.  Yum !

I agree with Karen Anne - I will take a slice of cheesecake, too.  Thanks!

You forgot, it gives your mouth something to do! Good post. Makes me just want to go and make a Dagwood out of the left-overs in the fridge! I'm already fighting the "Battle of the Bulge"!   8-)

Pass the whipped potatoes, please!  I'll be adding plenty of butter ... now, what was that about my resolution to lose weight in 2008??

Golly -- I think I'm going to have to go find a cookie now... I know there is still a tray of them in the kitchen....
