I usually fly, but this year, I had some clients that had sold their home after being staged and needed me to stop by and another one that I had to drop some things off at. Unfortunately, I started the trip exhausted from trying to tie up everything up before I left. Leaving at 10:40pm for a 10 hour drive...was not the smartest thing, but I wasn't tired, knew I could stop and get a hotel, and hey, at that time there's no traffic. At 2:30 am, I saw my first major fatal wreck with a deceased person covered in a blanket, with 6 hours left to drive, not something you want to witness, especially after just realizing, you were a lot more tired than you thought.
I made it to my destination just fine, around 8:30am. I was just bleary eyed and tired. And with nieces and nephews that are constantly on the go, I try and spend as much time as possible with them. I was still exhausted and now sleep deprived but went to the movies that afternoon. The other days were filled with shopping, snow, checking out all of their Christmas gifts, Christmas Eve Service, hockey skating practice, guitar playing (listening), watching magic shows, games, food, food and more food.
You get a lot of "thinking time" when you drive, and that can be a good or a bad thing. As much of a hassle as flying is now, I still prefer it. If it hadn't been for the circumstances, I would have saved 20 hours, and gained 2 days with them. Next time I fly no matter what happens!

Cindy you duplicated your post. might be a good idea to take one down before someone gets uptight about it.
