How do you help your clients with the purchasing a new home process.

I only deal with facts and not emotions.

I cannot work with emotions.

I let them know up front how the deal goes. I repeat myself so many times.

I do not give them everything up front. I feed them information. They are more apt to remember that way. I give them information then I repeat what I said and give more information. I add in there remember what we talked about and before they answer I will let them know how the conversation went. My clients are more on top of the home purchase process they way.

9 Comments on Facts vrs Emotions on purchasing a new home.

Keeping the process unemotional is not easy.  People do buy based on emotions.

Buying is always an emotional decision. Like you, we explain a lot of facts, and we support their emotion whenever possible from there... without getting into it, like you say here.

cheers

As soon as emotion gets into the mix then anything can happen. Take it outside and beat the you know what out of it! :)

Hi Susan,
I agree we as agents must put emotion aside but not easy when you are dealing with a young couple buying their first home and want so much to help them.

Susan, you can try to keep the emotions out, but purchasing a home is an emotional experience, even for an investor sometimes.  It would be nice for everyone to make their decisions just based on the facts, but emotions always seem to find their way in.

Susan, this should help keep your buyers focues and thinking rationally.  Fighting off emotions is always a challenge.

Hi Susan, nice post...working in steps to keep the information fresh and memorable for the client is a nice touch.  Good info on how to deal with clients.

Carol - You are correct about buying based on emotions, but I remove the emotions by reminding them of the facts then that makes a better judgement for them to look at the home when they are so emotional.

Gary - Thanks

Simon - Exactly that is why you must remind them of the facts hopefully they can think a little clearer.

Cynthia - Yes as agents we must do our best to keep plugging them with facts to help with the emotions is what we are doing.

George - Yes the emotions will always be there your are so correct that is why we must keep plugging in the facts so they can make the best rational decision that they can make.

Larry - Exactly that is what I am up to doing for my clients.

Gary - Thanks Gary

Buyers are emotional - that's why they need agents like us to separate fact vs. fiction. :)
