"I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING A DATABASE, BUT..."

1.  "...I'm not good with computers."

2.  "...I'm too busy to set-up or learn how to use a database."

3.  "...I like my paper system, it works fine so why switch?"

4.  "...I don't have enough clients or business to justify a database."

Do any of these answers sound like you?  I hear these things all the time when I talk to other agents about how important it is for them to have a database.  There is a solution to each and every one of these problems.... stay tuned!

I just set up mine,  I wish I would have started years ago.  I type, I transfer, I pray they didn't move

1) You don't have to be good with computers you just need to follow instructions

2) That is why there are professionals that setup programs like Top Producer etc all you do is answer their questions about HOW you do business

3) Then I hope you enjoy losing clients

4) The best time to start is when your small so that you DON'T let leads slip through the cracks

I know of one agent that uses post-it notes to write every last damn thing on.  She literally has post-it notes stuck EVERYWHERE in her office and car.  She refuses to use anything else other than a post-it note.

Wonder what she'd do if her house ever burned down?  POOF!  There goes all her info!

Real smart!

With out your data base you will be without business. You can not keep chasing new clients we need the referrals and continued contact with past clients is the only way to survive in most markets. I know yours is different.

The easiest way I found do create my data base is as soon as I get an address of a potential client or customer, I immediately enter it in my A,B,or C group. There you have it all done.

Also, after a closing I immediately copy the HUD, and address an envelope , put it in a file and vula!!! you have you mailing ready for January 1st!!

Can't believe all the lame excuses for not trying to manage our business in an efficient manner.  There are many things I'm not very good at but working my database isn't one of them.
